Commonly used as an alternative to face lifts, Botox is the product name of the cosmetic variant, botulinum toxin.  After applying a numbing cream to the affected area for 20-30 minutes, the patient receives regular injections throughout the face (varying according to the number and types of areas where it is required).  These injections reduce or completely eliminate fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, neck, and forehead.  They also reduce unsightly crow’s feet from around the eyes.  Botox injections achieve this by blocking the nerve impulses, effectively paralyzing those muscles that are responsible for the appearance of wrinkles.  The effect is temporary and so treatments need to be followed up at regular intervals.

Breast augmentation (also known as mammoplasty enlargement, augmentation mammoplasty, breast enlargement, or a boob job) is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures for women.  With the rise of sexual reassignment surgeries, it is also becoming more popular with male patients as well.

Blepharoplasty (also known as Asian blepharoplasty, double eyelid surgery, or eyelid surgery) is a surgical treatment that reduces the signs of aging, fatigue, and stress around the eyes.  The procedure literally involves cutting away the excess skin and tissue in order to shorten (tighten) the eyelids. One of the most popular items on a plastic surgeon’s menu is brow lift surgery, also known as an eyebrow lift or forehead lift surgery.  The procedure smoothes the forehead, reduces frown lines, and raises the eyebrow line.

The doctor makes an incision starting from the top of the ears and moving across the forehead behind the hairline.  Then, the forehead muscles are tightened, removing any excess skin and tissue.  The forehead skin is raised to elevate the brow line, and the incision is sutured shut.  Gauze padding or elastic bandages cover the wound for one to two days thereafter.  Brow lift surgery is often performed in an outpatient clinic under local anesthesia and mild sedation.
